Edward D. Levinson:ArchitectProfessor of Architecture,Yorktown University; Prof.Emeritus, MDC President of Levinson & Lopez, P.A. Adjunct Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, 1963, taught Materials and Methods of Construction, including Building Design Requirements for the Physically Handicapped as provided by the Paralyzed Veterans Association. Such instructions continued at MDCC, 1969-2002. With the City of Miami, Levinson and his students created two and three dimensional design projects illustrating Accessibility for the Handicapped, supporting and contributing to the Pan Am Expo on Disability, and developed the Access Miami Guide, 1981. Prof. Levinson supervised student designs, which resulted in the creation of the A.D. Barnes Park, specifically created to provide access for the handicapped. Involvement with the creation of Metro-Rail resulted in selection of mass transit vehicles specifically designed for access by the handicapped. Faculty Juror in Design Studio Presentations, specifically monitoring ADA Requirements. Student designs for the City of Miami Beach, the redevelopment of 40th Street, specifically addressed handicapped access to and from planned adjacent parking facilities. Levinson has been an Expert Witness, done Investigatory Research, and Inspection, and has participated in Depositions and Court Testimony with regards ADA issues. Elsa L. Lopez:IIDA, SEGD, CSIElsa Lopez is Vice President of Levinson & Lopez, P.A., dba: ADA Research and Compliance Analysts. Elsa is a Registered Interior Designer in the State of Florida, ID No 0000112 and is NCIDQ Certified, No. 5852 Her experience encompasses design requirements for the physically handicapped, including requirements for and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Commercial Interior Design, Space Planning and Signage. Elsa's other major ADA compliance analysis and design projects include: Miami International Airport Terminal Survey of Tenant Spaces, North Terminal Development Project for MDAD as a member of The Corgan Team; Miami Dade College, Medical Campus ADA Compliant Signage, and Miami International Airport Terminal and Concourses, Study and Transition Plan. She is a member and chairperson of the Architecture / Interior Design Advisory Committee MDC and taught Interior Design courses as an Adjunct Professor at MDC and FIU.
